How to Maintain Access to Your Canva Template for Ongoing Editing

Many digital Canva template listings on Etsy promise “unlimited editing” and the ability to “reuse year after year” after purchase. But what does this really entail and how does it work?

The process is straightforward. Upon purchasing a listing from Etsy, you will receive a digital PDF file containing links to access and edit your template in Canva. Simply open the PDF, click on the template link, and start editing.

Now, imagine you’ve completed editing and downloading your design for printing, but later realize you need to make adjustments to your flyer. How can you achieve this?

When you click on the access links, you essentially create a COPY of the template in Canva. This copy is yours indefinitely within Canva.

To continue editing or printing your template, log in to your free Canva Account. If you’re new to Canva, your design will appear under “recent designs” on your Canva homepage.

If you frequently use Canva for various projects and have many designs in your account, consider utilizing the search toolbar on the Canva home screen for quick access. There’s no need to repeatedly download the PDF instructions from Etsy.

Canva automatically saves your work as you progress. After initially opening your template in Canva, we recommend renaming your file for easy identification and future access.

In summary, to continue editing or printing your Canva template, log in to your Canva account and locate your design under “recent designs.” If it’s not visible, use the search tool to find it. Once your template is open, you can make further edits tailored to your requirements.
